Benefits

The BTSA offers a range of career professional development programmes and opportunities. Our core purpose is to ensure that all staff, whatever their role in school, can access professional development that is appropriate to their current role and which helps them to move forward in their career. We are working in 8 key areas: Initial Teacher Training, Research and Development, CPD and Leadership Development, School to School Support, Specialist Leaders of Education, Succession Planning and Talent Management, NQT Induction and Professional Learning Networks.

Specialist Leaders of Education:

Specialist Leaders of Education (or SLEs) are recognised nationally as outstanding middle or senior leaders who have the skills to support individuals or teams in other schools. They understand what outstanding leadership practice in their area of expertise looks like and are skilled in helping other leaders to achieve it in their own contexts.

As a Teaching School we have six accredited SLEs who are all outstanding leaders with experience of successfully developing teaching and learning and leadership in their own schools and beyond.

The Brent Teaching School Alliance’s SLEs are offering a free half-day audit visit to schools to identify specific needs and draw up a targeted action plan for whatever support is needed.
